Meeting Needs. Creating Hope. Caring for Creation.
2 Shirts Ministry serves people facing difficult circumstances by providing clothing and essential items while promoting responsible stewardship of resources.
Our work focuses on three primary groups: children and families in need, unsheltered individuals, and disaster survivors.
Children and Families
Many families struggle to provide basic necessities due to unexpected hardships, financial challenges, or life transitions.
We work to provide clothing and other essential items that help meet practical needs and reduce burdens on families during difficult times.
Unsheltered Individuals
Access to weather-appropriate clothing can be critical for people experiencing homelessness.
We provide seasonal clothing and necessities throughout the year, including:
- Winter coats and cold-weather clothing
- Hats, gloves, and warm layers
- Shirts, shorts, and lightweight clothing for warmer months
- Other essential items that support daily living
Our goal is to help people stay safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity.
Disaster Response
Natural disasters can leave individuals and families without access to even the most basic necessities.
We are building partnerships and systems that allow us to support disaster response efforts by providing clean, usable clothing and essential items to affected communities.
We hope to work alongside relief organizations and community partners to help ensure needed resources reach those recovering from hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and other disasters.
Turning Surplus Into Service
One of the unique ways we serve is by repurposing clothing that might otherwise be discarded.
Many companies and organizations have surplus:
- Uniforms
- Branded apparel
- Promotional clothing
- Employee apparel and SWAG
Because of logos or company branding, these items often cannot be donated through traditional channels.
When possible, we carefully remove identifying logos, patches, and branding, restoring garments so they can be used again. This process transforms surplus clothing into valuable resources for people in need.
Our Process
1. Collect
We receive donations from:
- Businesses and corporations
- Employee donation programs
- Community groups
- Churches
- Individual donors
2. Sort and Inspect
Items are carefully reviewed to ensure they are clean, safe, and suitable for distribution.
3. Repurpose
Branded clothing and uniforms are decommissioned as needed by removing company identification and preparing items for reuse.
4. Distribute
Clothing and essentials are distributed through outreach efforts and community partnerships that connect resources with people who need them most.
Caring for Creation
Every year, large amounts of usable clothing end up in landfills despite having years of useful life remaining.
By repurposing and redistributing clothing, 2 Shirts Ministry helps reduce textile waste while creating opportunities to serve others. This approach allows us to care for both people and the environment at the same time.
More Than Clothing
Every item we distribute represents more than material assistance.
It is a reminder that someone cares.
It is an expression of generosity and compassion.
And it is one way we seek to share God’s love with our neighbors through practical service and faithful stewardship.
