For several years, the work of 2 Shirts Ministry has taken place largely behind the scenes.
A child receives warm winter clothing. A family moving after a hurricane finds help to get through a tough season. A person experiencing homelessness receives clean clothes, a warm meal, and a reminder that someone cares.
In many cases, these moments happen quietly. They get no recognition or attention. Yet each one is a chance to show the love of Christ in a practical way.
This summer, we invite you to join our mission through our Summer of Service initiative.
Summer of Service is a season of planned outreach. We are dedicated to meeting physical needs and sharing the hope of the Gospel. We also want to strengthen our community through acts of kindness and service. This is a great chance for groups, families, and individuals to do work that makes a real difference.
Since its founding, 2 Shirts Ministry has helped hundreds of people. We serve Lincoln County and surrounding areas. We offer clothing assistance and outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness. Through these efforts, we seek to be good stewards of God’s resources. We want to serve those He places in our path.
Summer Impact
This summer, our main focus is supporting two missionaries. They minister directly to individuals who cannot access traditional meal programs. Together, they provide more than 75 meals each week. They help people who face barriers like health challenges, transportation issues, or limited mobility.
A simple meal often becomes something much greater. It creates a chance for conversation. That talk leads to encouragement. Then, encouragement creates an opportunity to share the love of Christ. It reminds someone that they are not forgotten.
Over the summer, this ministry will provide about 900 meals. At the same time, we will build relationships with people throughout our community.
Our Summer of Service also provides seasonal clothing and essential items. New socks, underwear, summer clothes, and comfortable shoes make a big difference. Hygiene products and other necessities also help. For someone facing a hard time, these items bring dignity, comfort, and hope.
The needs we see are both physical and spiritual. We want to meet practical needs whenever we can. Still, our greatest desire is to point people to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Every meal served and every item given helps us show His love. Every prayer offered and every talk shared does the same.
We invite you to join us this summer.
How You Can Help
You can join us by praying for those we serve. You can also donate supplies or provide financial support. Even just encouraging our ministry workers helps a lot. Every gift helps us reach more people in our community.
As we begin this Summer of Service, we remember the words of Christ in Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Thank you for helping us share that light. We can do it together, one person and one act of kindness at a time.
